An alright place if you’re stuck, but the noise from the road and especially no effective night guardian to stop people throwing bottles into the bottle bin late in the evening/night, or to stop crazed Ado’s running around shouting, or stopping people who should know better speaking, laughing and debating loudly late in the evening / night…really put me off the place.
Also the general disposition and hygienic state of the sanitaries wasn’t up to standard. A tiny pool, poor finishings and “plastic palace” furnishings in the bar and restaurant, or rather snack-house, killed the atmosphere…along with the worst DJ / Entertainment guy ever ! Blasting commercial and badly mixed “noise” over a family camping site is just unacceptable.
The beach is grey and dirty, as was the quality of the water - apparently the sewage system can’t cope with the extra tourists so the treatment plant channels waste into the river, which flows into the port and into the bay…and the beach.
Maybe a one-star camp at best. Needs total refurbishment and enforcing of regulations - both hygiene and sound / noise pollution !
The reception and restaurant staff and restaurant manager do a pretty good job of being friendly and helpful…but there’s only so much their particular professionalism can do. Avoid if you can…or just come for the Corsican cold meats at good prices.
Oh, I nearly forgot - certain cleaning staff just love to bang and crash the doors of the toilets and showers and generally make an amazing cacophony with their brushes and mops…while regularly coughing out loud (?) at 06:15 in the morning ?? That woman / those women deserves / deserve the gold medal of “screwing with everybody’s sleep”…along with the trash truck that screechingly beeps as it reverses in to make its pick up at 05:00 on Sunday morning ? Unbelievable.
There seems to be no manager or basic respect and caring of the clients sleep here…or else he/she is invisible and totally ineffective.
Hope the management company read this and act to help save thousands of people’s holidays. I came here to relax…and I’m leaving thoroughly exhausted and stressed out.
Beautiful island though, and the Corsicans are really nice people too. I’ll be back…when the town sorts out the sewage issues and maybe to Kalliste Camping site if they radically improve the noise and hygiene issues.
